Eliminating the
single use items

In recent years, the consumption of single-use beverage cups for tea, coffee and other drinks increased, and the waste volumes grew with a rising dependence on disposable packaging in relation to a growing ‘on the go’ and throwaway culture. Estimates of the number of paper and plastic throwaway cups used each year worldwide range up to one hundred billion, 4 billion cups of that consumed by Starbucks’ customers alone every year.

How It Works

Instead of using your own travel mug, you buy your G12able Membership in our cup-sharing program. You don’t have to remember to bring a cup when you go to a coffee shop or restaurant, and you don’t have to carry the cup around with you–when you’re done with the drink, you can just drop the G12able cup off at another cafe partner.

Our Business Partners

Throughout our G12able journey to build our Responsible Consumption System, we ‘ve teamed up with some of the best in the business – sharing knowledge and experiences to make reusable work.

Why It Matters?

Single-use paper cups contain a plastic in lining that is persistent and breaks down slowly in nature until it becomes micro-plastic. Micro-plastic is problematic as it is difficult to collect and easy to absorb by animals. In Sweden, between 500 and 1000 million paper cups are used every year, with an average lifespan of 15 minutes, creating 5,000 -10,000 tonnes of waste. The problem is getting worse day after day, if we know that  UK reports less than 1% of its 2.5 – 3 billion cups are recycled due to the difficulties separating plastic lining from paper. There are also more than 4,500 pizzerias in Sweden, where the standard pizzeria sells 40-50 pizza per day, in addition to the Ice cream shops, fresh Juice and restaurants that use single-use containers to sell their products all over Sweden every day, therefore, we choose to be a company that care of making the UNSDG and mainly the Goal 12 is our focus, and to able a responsible consumption and production system, by making eliminating the single-use items possible.
